Knuckle Rings

20 Mar

We have really been digging the knuckle ring trend but have had trouble finding the perfect ones that didn’t break the bank. We finally found these from Uncovet and had to order them right away.

We purchased them in gold but they’re available in silver and rose gold too! We love the look with the bright nailpolish and have a feeling we’ll be rocking these beauties all spring long.

2 Year Anniversary

19 Mar

Today marks 2 years married to the love of my life. I can’t believe it has been 2 years already! This time 2 years ago we were gathered with all of our family and friends as they witnessed us become husband and wife and celebrated with those we love most. Le Roux and I have so many memories between us and many more to come. I love him more and more each day and so excited for the future and what we have to look forward to! Adventures with him are my favorite and I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side. I never knew I could love someone this much. He is my best friend, my soul mate, and I am so lucky to call him my husband!

Here is a look back at a few photos from the best day of our lives!

Tonight, Le Roux and I have reservations at Del Frisco’s here in Charlotte to celebrate. When we get home, we are going to rewatch our wedding video and exchange gifts. Saturday, we have planned an entire spa day at the Ballayntyne Resort with each other to just relax and spend time together!

St Patrick’s Day Party

18 Mar

We were in charge of throwing the St Patrick’s Day Party at our office this past Friday. 150 employees and a limited budget, so we had to get creative.

Guess How Many - St Patrick's DayTo drum up some excitement during the week, we created a “Guess How Many” game with a St. Patrick’s Day theme. The items included rolos, skittles separated by color and placed in the color of a rainbow, and marshmallows. This jar was placed on the front desk and each employee got one guess. Whoever guessed the closest won the jar!

We had live music by a very talented son of an employee.Cornhold and Cabbage sign {St Patrick's Day Cornhole Game}C&C

We had our first annual cornhole tournament which we named “CORNHOLE AND CABBAGE.” It was great to have an activity for everyone to do and people really got into it. There were 4 rounds and towards the end everyone was crowded around cheering for their coworkers.St Patrick's Day Prizes {Kisses, Skittles, St Patrick's Day themed scratch off ticket, flag, and green gift card} We had prizes for the top 3 winners of the cornhole tournament and also prizes for the best St. Patrick’s Day outfit. The prizes were green cups purchased from the dollar store filled with kisses, skittles, a St Patty’s Day themed scratch of ticket, an Irish flag, and a gift card. The gift cards were either for Publix and Starbucks because they are both green.DSCN3407

A decoration which we then gave as a prize.

The photobooth was a lot of fun! Some props were purchased like the boa and glasses and then we made the sticks using free printables from here. The customizable “Photobooth” sign was also a free printable found here. We pinned a St Patrick’s Day themed table-cloth to the wall and had an instant DIY photobooth.

We had a few snacks like chips and guacamole {going with the green theme} and cupcakes and cookies with green and white icing and shamrock sprinkles. The beverages included wine and of course GREEN BEER!

Green Beer

The party was a huge hit and didn’t break the bank. The decorations were simple, but balloons and streamers go a long way. The point of the party was to get the employees together and the cornhole game was a great activity that got everyone involved.

Hope you all had a very happy St Patrick’s Day!

Wine-ing and Design-ing

14 Mar

We love painting and we love crafts. It’s nice to be creative once in a while especially when it’s something new and different. So when my friend Erika invited me for a night of Wine and Design I was so excited and immediately responded YES! I had heard so much about places like this and was not going to pass up the chance to have a fun girls night and be creative at the same time.

As soon as we walked into the studio, we were greeted by friendly faces and colorful walls filled with canvases from past classes and artists work.

We poured our wine, got our aprons on, and found a work station. We had a class of about 15 plus an instructor which made for a fun time!

This is the blank canvas that you start with.

The instructor goes step by step to bring the painting together, but it was really cool to see how even though everyone was painting the same picture, they all looked different; different colors, shapes, and sizes depending on that specific person’s creativity.

In progress..

After some wine, some laughs, and lots of paint.. our masterpieces were complete!

It was so much fun and this will most definitely be something that we do again.
