Wednesday Wish List: Green with Envy

31 Oct

There is something so refreshing about the color green. It is such a great hue to have in your wardrobe or to accessorize with for year-round wear! With so many pretty shades of green, it’s easy to incorporate this color into many differently styled outfits. We are certainly envious of anyone who owns the green pieces that are on our wish list.

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. In all honesty, we love every holiday and any reason to get dressed up, plan a party, and just be festive!

Wishing you all a fun, safe, and happy Halloween!

So tell us, what do you plan on dressing up as this year?

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

29 Oct

We love everything and anything pumpkin. It’s the one thing we can’t get enough of, especially this time of year! We stumbled across this recipe and made it right away. It’s delicious and you will be finding yourself making it again and again!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

What you’ll need:

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of canned pumpkin {we prefer Libby’s}
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup vanilla pudding
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup of chocolate chips
cooking spray

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

2. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, and stir well with a whisk.

3. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups and level with a knife. Combine flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl, and stir with a whisk.

4. Add the flour mixture to pumpkin mixture, stirring until moist. Stir in the chocolate chips.

5. Spoon batter into a bread/loaf pan that is already coated with cooking spray.

6. Bake at 350 for 60-75 minutes and check with a toothpick to ensure the center comes out clean.

7. Cool 10 minutes on a wire rack, and remove from the pan.

Halloween Pretzel Treats

26 Oct

Here is a yummy Halloween treat that is sure to be a hit!

Halloween Pretzel Treats

What you’ll need:

1 bag of Mini Pretzels (we used the snaps, shaped like squares and they worked great.)

1 bag of Hershey Kisses

1 bag of Candy Corn

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.

3. Place pretzels on cookie sheet, not touching.

4. Unwrap Hershey Kisses and place one on top of each pretzel.

5. Place filled cookie sheet in the oven and bake for 3-5 minutes, but no longer. You will know when it is time to take them out of the oven when the Hershey Kisses start to get shiny.

6. Take out of the oven and place candy corn on top of Hershey Kisses, gently pushing down.

7. Cool and then transfer to a serving platter. {Place in the fridge to speed up the cooling process}

Enjoy! Hope you all have a great Halloween weekend!

We came across these stylish little notebooks from and knew instantly that we needed them. We ordered the weekly planners and a blank one for taking notes at work. They also have monthly agendas, meal planners, baby diaries and more!

The only problem with these books is that there are too many cute patterns to pick from {especially if you’re like me and VERY indecisive!}

“Life is too short for ugly notebooks!”

Order yours HERE!

Wednesday Wish List: RED

24 Oct

We’ve been listening to Taylor’s Swift album on repeat since the minute we woke up Monday morning, and now all we’re seeing is RED! It’s such a classic color and instantly makes any outfit a bit sexy (think red lips, red soles, or a tight red dress). Today our eyes are being drawn to this bold color and leaving us wishing for these beauties:20121024-112643.jpg

Scarf Holder Tutorial

22 Oct

Scarves. We’re obsessed. There are so many different patterns, colors, lengths, and fabrics. They can be the perfect accessory to your outfit or a practical staple to have in your wardrobe in those cool fall and winter months.

When our scarf drawers started overflowing recently, we knew something had to be done. We are firm believers in the rule that if you can’t see it, you won’t wear it; so we chose to put our scarves on display so we could easily see what we have and have access to them. While making this scarf holder, we rediscovered some great pieces we forgot we had and made lots of room in our drawers {for more scarves, of course!}

This quick, easy project, inspired by Pinterest, takes about two minutes and costs under two bucks!

Whatcha need: any extra hanger lying around your house and a pack of shower curtain rings {we got ours at Walmart for $1.66!}

1. Attach shower curtain rings to the bottom part of the hanger.

2. Fold scarves longways and put one halfway through each ring.

3. Step back and admire all your pretty scarves!
