Tough Mudder {and an Africa Flashback}

2 Nov

In August, my friend Kelsey told me that a friend of hers was putting together a Tough Mudder team and asked if I wanted to join. I knew it was going to be extremely difficult, but it’s also a lot about teamwork and camaraderie, so I thought it would be something fun to do. We signed up and I was all enthusiastic and ready to start training. Fast forward 3 months. Today is November 2nd, exactly one month until the event, and I think I could count on two hands how many times I’ve worked out in the last three months. Enter freak out mode. Our team is in it just for fun and not to race, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a 10-12 mile course with 20 something obstacles designed by British Special Forces. {HELP!} So, in an effort to look a little more like this:

And a lot less like this:

I’m going to seriously start training. I know I’ve said that every week since I signed up, but I mean it this time. Really!

And while googling those pictures, that cute little elephant brought back memories from the trip Kim and I took to South Africa 2 years ago. So I thought I’d share some of those photos with you in a little African flashback..

    I’m doing the tough mudder too and not nearly in the shape I should be! I’m starting to get a little worried…oh well, hopefully it will be fun!
